Rincon – Lonnie William Edwards, Jr., 54 went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was the owner of L.E. Construction Company, his family was very important to him, he was an avid horseman, avid fisherman, and loved to restore old cars.  He was always willing to help a friend, neighbor, or anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie William Edwards, Sr. and Betty Marie Boyles Edwards; sister, Deborah Hatfield; infant son, William Anthony Christianson; and nephew, William Henry Hatfield.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Thompson Edwards; brother, Perry Lewis Edwards; daughters, Heather Edwards, (Travis), Amanda Hilton (Daniel), and Jaime Sprague (Ricky); son, Chuck Thompson (Mia); grandchildren, Raelyn Hilton, Debbie Beaubien and Christopher Beaubien, Tyler Sprague (Macie), Bailey Thompson, Zac Wainwright, (Lizzie), Madison Sprague, Chase Thompson (Jocelyn); 3 great-grandchildren, with one due to arrive soon; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
