Mrs. Lorene Webb Edwards, 95, of Port Wentworth, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Candler Hospital.

She was born in Pineora, GA to the late Ijon T. & Rosa Lee Webb.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, P.B. Edwards, Jr., daughter, Gail Williams and a granddaughter, Becky Laskowski.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth and a life member of the Senior Citizens.  She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Military Order of the Purple Heart, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, lifetime charter member of the National WWII Memorial (Tribute to a Generation), and a member of the American Business Women's Association.  She was an avid league bowler and competitor in the GA Senior Olympics.  She won a bronze medal in the National Senior Olympics.  Her favorite pastimes were watching the Atlanta Braves and reading.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, John R. McDowell, Jr. (Elaine), Preston B. Edwards, III (Susan), and Cheryl E. Brewer (Butch); 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
