Obituary

Guyton – Loretta Kessler Lancaster, 86, passed away September 23, 2022 at her residence.

The Chatham County native grew up in Port Wentworth and moved to Rincon in 1962.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield, former member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth.   She was a former member of the Exchange Club and helped start the Manna House.  She was a homemaker and won "Homemaker of the Year" for the Effingham County Fair in 1968.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elliott E. Kessler and Lillie Mae Strange Kessler; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Lancaster.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Clarence Eugene Lancaster, Sr. "Pete"; children, Sharon Lucas (Jim), Eugene Lancaster, and Keith Lancaster (Susan); grandchildren, Melissa Zaiser (Ryan), James Lucas, William Lucas (Kyle Geissler), Clay Lancaster, Jessica Marchione (Carlo), Amber Dyson (C.A.), Kristen Kessler (Corey); great-grandchildren, Savannah, Hunter, Brodie, Ava, Blake, Tucker, Taylor, Caden, Brice, Brooklynn, Arrie, and Charleston; brother, Jud Kessler (Evelyn); numerous nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Cynthia Duncan.

Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Springfield followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
