Lori Denise Parkhurst

Lori Denise Parkhurst, 61, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Lori will be missed by her husband of 42 years, Ronald G. Parkhurst; daughter, Lindy Leigh Bowers (Nathan Allen Bowers); son, Ryan Allen Parkhurst; grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Landon Allen Bowers and London Grace Bowers; father, Richard A. Newman, Sr. (Sam); siblings, Richard A. Newman, Jr. (Kim), Julie Long (Larry), Joy Temples (Ryan), and Whitney Diana (Steven); step-father, Edward Scarfo; several nieces and nephews, as well as Sandy Sellars who was like a sister to Lori.

Lori was born in Savannah, Georgia and was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Rowland Scarfo; her brother, Douglas Newman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Lee Parkhurst and Dorothy Dean Parkhurst; step-mother, Arlene Newman. She was a former para-professional at Bloomingdale Elementary School and Port Wentworth Elementary School. She will be remembered for having the biggest heart, never meeting a stranger, for loving everyone, including all children, regardless if they belonged to her or not.

The visitation will be on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The memorial service to honor Lori’s life will follow at 5 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
