Guyton – LouDean Risher Hinely, Jr., 88, passed away August 2, 2024 at home.

He was born on July 14, 1936 in Guyton, GA.  He owned and operated Hinely's Landscaping company in Martinez, GA.  He returned to the family farm in 2001 and went to work as a firefighter with Effingham County Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lou Dean, Sr. and Mildred Hinely; and a daughter, Debbie McDaniel.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Hinely, daughters, Andrea McBride (Todd), Renee Barrett (Ted), Brandi Dillie (Lyle), Sherry McIntosh, and Susannah Dixon (Monte); 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Saxon; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brad Saxon, Doug Saxon, David Dillie, Dan Adams, Ethan Brown, Kirk Mosley, and Tyler McBride.  Honorary pallbearers will be Effingham County Fire Department.

Visitation will be 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Matt Waldron and Chaplain Scott Stringer officiating.

Interment will follow in Bethesda Church at Midland Cemetery.
