Pooler - Louie L. Winskie, age 69, of Pooler, passed away July 11, 2018.  Referred to by his family as a "Renaissance Man", Louie wrote, produced, and recorded a catalog of Christian music, giving his wife, Joy, the credit for whatever success he gained.  He walked with God, and his music was his ministry, but he also loved hunting and fishing in the outdoors. He also served his country in the US Army in Vietnam in 1969.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Winskie; and a sister, Betty Sasser.  Survivors include his wife of over 47 years, Joy Winskie, of Pooler; son, Alex (Melissa) Winskie, of Savannah; grandsons, Jett Winskie and Alistar Winskie; former daughter-in-law, Jessica Sikes; brothers, Mark Winskie, Tony (Carolyn) Winskie, Butch (Pam) Winskie, Danny (Judy) Winskie, Wayne (Gail) Winskie; and many nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends Friday, July 13 ^th from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.  The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 15 ^th at 2:00 PM at Pooler First Baptist Church.  Rev Bryan Parrish and Rev. Mark Winskie officiating.  Interment will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.  The family is accepting flowers and express that those desiring may make donations to American Heart Association or Pooler First Baptist Church in the name of Louie L. Winskie.
