Springfield- Lt. Dale Sylvester, Jr., 55, passed away, Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Memorial Health.

Fernandina Beach, FL native was worked at the Port Wentworth Police Dept. for the last 5 years and was a US Navy veteran. He had retired after 26 years with the Chatham County Police Department/District Attorney's Office. Dale was a member of the Savannah Mustang Club and was devoted to his family, grandchildren and family in blue.

He is survived by his wife, Alison Sylvester; children, Courtney Sylvester, Dennis D. Sylvester, III (Sarah), and Sarah Fisher (Juan); parents, Dale, Sr. and Betty Sylvester; grandchildren, Shiloh Sylvester, Arya Mila Sylvester, and Owen Fisher; sister, Nicole Sylvester McLaurin (Frank); nieces, Ashlan Darsey, Lauren Morbach, and Emilea Morbach; and his dogs, Sly Bones and Sheba-Marie.

Visitation: 2-3:30 pm Sunday, August 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Rincon.

Memorial Service: 3:30 pm Sunday, August 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Rincon.

Masks are being required inside of the church per family's request.
