Eden-Mrs. Lucille Elizabeth "Lucy" Brown, 92, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Lucy was born in Columbia, SC to the late Lonnie L. & Geneva Spires. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Brown, and two sisters. She attended Meldrim United Methodist Church, and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She had formerly worked at Southern Bell, and Shipyard Building Corporation, as well as being the co-owner of Brown's Chevron.
Survivors include her daughter, Gerri Rogers (Coy); sons, Elton H. Brown (Andrea), and Donald L. Brown (LaDean); grandchildren, Craig Rogers (Lori), Glen Rogers, Jennifer Foskey (Brian), Jeremy Brown, Rebecca Hart (Fred Blackmar), and Landon Brown; step-grandchildren, Chris Carter (Stephanie), Ashleigh Walker (William), and Courtney Peterson (Andrew Booker); nine great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Gibson, and Margie Maxwell; a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Steve Meguiar officiating. Pallbearers will be Terry Brown, Barry Brown, Donald A. Brown, Julian Brown, Wayne Foskey, and Bobby Simons. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
