Lucille Thomas

Bloomingdale – Mrs. R. Lucille Thomas, 91, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side Christmas Night.
Lucille was born in Baxley, GA to the late Bryant and Eunie Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband Howard "Dobe" Thomas; great-grandson, Alan Thomas Burnham; and son-in-law, Hugh Lowe. Lucille was a member of Faulkville Baptist church and retired from Union Camp.
Lucille and Dobe were married on Christmas day in 1940. Their life together was 40 years and in that time they had five children; Louise, Rayford "Peanut", Patton, Shelia and Joey.
Lucille's five children remember their mother as a Godly woman, selfless beyond measure, hard working, adventurous and trustworthy.
Lucille will be remembered as a woman of many talents. But she will be most remembered for her love of family and for the loving large family that will continue to honor her through their lives.
Survivors include her children, Louise and Gene Redding, Rayford "Peanut" and Bernetta Thomas, Patton and Donna Thomas, Shelia Lowe, Joey and Debbie Thomas and Beverly Thomas; grandchildren, Carl and Sharon Redding, Curtis and Richelle Redding, Dana and Alan Burnham, Lynn and Steve Anderson, Tonya and Brian Royal, Nicole Thomas, Kevin and Kim Redding, Chad Thomas, Brian Lowe, Rayford "Bubba" and Amber Thomas, Destiny and Brian Bland, Lee and Brad Formby, and Christina and Randy West; great-grandchildren, Blake and Alice Burnham, Bridget and Chris Holland, Lauren Redding, Zach Anderson, Dylan Redding, Hannah Anderson, Aaron Royal, Ciara Burnham, Carlton Redding, Ryan Redding, Garrett Thomas, Hunter West, Madison Thomas, Laurel Bland, Cameron Lowe, Karsyn Thomas, Kelsey Lowe, Cody West, Bryant Bland, Emma Thomas, Jade West, Cooper Redding, Evan Redding, Jack, Mac Formby, Kylar Lowe, Cassie and Mike Escara, Kristen and Alex Mohyer, Drew Richardson, and Caleb Richardson.; great-great grandchildren, Hayven Royal, Max Redding, Brooklyn Burnham, Kenzley Holland, Cade Escara, Aspen Escara, Hayden Richardson, and Grayson Mohyer along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the funeral home.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Albert Hill and Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating and the pallbearers were Carl Redding, Curtis Redding, Kevin Redding, Brian Lowe, Bubba Thomas, and Chad Thomas. Burial followed at Hillcrest Abbey West.
