Mrs. Lucy Noreen Hess Sershing
Bloomingdale-Mrs. Lucy Noreen Hess Sershing, 64, died on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at
St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mrs. Lucy was born in Chatham County, was a loving grandmother and a care giver to
her entire family. She was baptized at Pineora Baptist Church and was currently
attending Goshen United Methodist Church. She was employed with the Savannah Sleep
Disorder Center.
Survivors include her companion, Robert Hess of Bloomingdale; daughter and
son-in-law, Kathy & Thomas Patrick of Rincon; son and daughter-in-law, David &
Debby Hess of North Carolina; grandchildren, Brandi & Mandi Patrick and Jackson Hess;
sisters, Brenda Craven of Guyton, Barbara Tilton of Savannah, Mary Grier of Midway,
Lilly Ford of Pooler, Jane Blethen of Midway, Theresa Jernigan of Pembroke and
Jeannette Grier of Savannah; brother, Lewis Jackson of Savannah and a number of nieces
and nephews.
The visitation for Mrs. Lucy will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the
Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel.
The funeral to celebrate Mrs. Lucy's life will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2008 in
the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow at
Bethel Cemetery on Little Neck Road with Rev. Rickey Rushing officiating. Active
Pallbearers will be David Hess, Chris Reynolds, Joey Craven, Brian Craven, William
Craven and Bruce Finch. Honorary Pallbearers will be William Ford, James Grier,
Thomas Grier and Charles Tilton.
