LuNeil Exley Neurath, passed away Saturday September 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family members. LuNeil was born October 20, 1940 in Savannah, Georgia. She lived in Effingham County her entire life residing in Rincon, Georgia. She was of the Methodist faith and attended Rincon United Methodist Church for 80 years. She was a homemaker taking care of her family and many others. In addition, Mrs. Neurath was a seamstress spending many hours sewing dresses for the girls, suits for the boys and taking up and letting out many pairs of pants and other garments. After retirement she specialized in crocheting baby booties. Her hobbies included quilting, cooking meals for everyone, canning vegetables, and making that fantastic homemade bread and the phenomenal chocolate layer cake loved by all! And if you knew her you would get a call every year on your birthday with a very happy birthday wish. Her favorite pastime in retirement was camping and attending Bluegrass Music Festivals all over the Southeast where she made many friends and spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her Parents Alton Wesley Exley and Susan Dasher Exley and her husband of 55 years William Jay Neurath Sr.
She is survived by her children: William Jay Neurath Jr. (Kamala); Susan Neurath Durden (Richard); Wesley Roan Neurath (Victoria); Laura Neurath Morgan (Darren). Grandchildren: Tyson Corbin (Jackson), Jonathan Durden (Julia), Matthew Durden (Kayla), Emily Durden (Fiancé JD), Tristan Neurath (Fiancé Lexie), Isabel Neurath, Lauren Fears (Evan), Jayson Morgan, and Olivia Morgan. Brother Gilbert Exley (Gail), Sister Ethelyn Pye (William). Brother-In-Law Earl Neurath (Ruby), Brother-In-Law Carl Neurath, special friend Ricky Dugger, many nieces and nephews, and her special little pet Nellie Rose.
Pallbearers: Jonathan Durden, Matthew Durden, Tristan Neurath, Jayson Morgan, Jackson Corbin, Evan Fears, and Deyton Williams.
Funeral: Graveside Service Tuesday September 14 th at 11:00 at Ebenezer Cemetery, 2980 Ebenezer Road.
Interment: Ebenezer Cemetery.
