Springfield – Lydia Kaye Fulcher Barrs, 75, passed away Friday afternoon, June 28, 2024.

Kaye was born on September 28, 1948.  The Effingham County native was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd C. Fulcher, Sr. and Matra Zittrouer Fulcher; and her sister, Sheila Saxon.

Kaye was a resident of Springfield and worked at Effingham Hospital prior to her illness.  She loved holidays, time with family, and the beach.  After her illness she was cared for at Effingham Health and Rehab from nearly 10 years.  There she enjoyed visits from friends and family, watching Hallmark movies and Hersey Kisses.

Survivors include her daughter, Marcie Mingledorff; son, Justin Barrs; granddaughters, Emerie Mingledorff and Darby Mingledorff; siblings, Lavonne Sutton, Buddy Fulcher (Jan), David Fulcher (Marlene), and Dottie Rahn (Grady); and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Strickland's Funeral Home in Springfield followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.

Interment - Springfield Cemetery Annex.
