It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lynda Wells, 74, of Springfield, Georgia, she left this world to fly with the angels on March 23, 2025.

Lynda was born September 2, 1950, in Elizabeth, Indiana, to JD and Harriette Gilley. Lynda was a force of nature from the start, loyal to her friends and family and care taker to any child or animal she came in contact with.

Lynda is survived by her loving and caring husband Shane Wells, son Matthew Sorg (Jennifer), grandchildren Matt, Ray and Remi Sorg, Brittany Jones, Maranda Braden (Morgan), brothers Gary Gilley (Liz), Bobby Gilley, Jeffrey Gilley (Marsha), Greg Gilley (Nikki), sister Tanya Tuell (Mike), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, her sons Thomas Edward Sorg II, Joshua Thomas Sorg, daughter-in-law Misty Buckley Sorg and sister in-law Patricia Gilley.

During Lynda's illness her husband Shane and grandson Matt were her care givers until the angels called her home.

To know Lynda was to love her. Lynda treated everyone with compassion and would take care of everyone she knew or came in contact with. Lynda took in every child that needed a meal, clothing, a place to rest, or an ice cream cone. She would make them feel safe and wanted. Lynda had the same love and concern for her cats, dogs and every animal she came in contact with. No child or animal was ever turned away. Lynda was dearly loved by her husband, family and friends and will be dearly missed and remembered with love.
