Rincon – Mabel Zipperer Spivey, 84, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at her residence. She was born November 5, 1937 in Savannah, moved to Effingham County in 1998.

She graduated in the Class of 1955 from Commercial High School. She was employed for a total of 36 years with Palmer & Cay/Carswell, Inc. before retiring July 1, 2000 as a Corporate Vice President.

Mabel was a previous member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Savannah, Delesseps Avenue Baptist Church in Savannah, and a present member of North Salem Baptist Church in Port Wentworth. She was also a member of the Georgia Salzburger Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Derrick Zipperer, Sr. & Meta Elizabeth Helmey Zipperer; brothers, Samuel Derrick Zipperer, Jr., Harry Eugene Zipperer and Walter Edward Zipperer; her husband, Bobby Jordan Spivey, Sr.; sons, Randall Alan Spivey, Sr. and Ronald Wayne Spivey; and a grandson, Randall Alan Spivey, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Jordan Spivey, Jr. (Kathleen), Donald Dwayne Spivey, and Pamela Spivey Cartee (Caleb); daughter-in-law, Becky Spivey; grandchildren, Christopher Chambers, Mandi (John) Williams, April (Nick) Spivey Smith, Brian Spivey, Rachel (Tex) Spivey, Sarah Spivey, and others; and numerous great-grandchildren.
