Pooler-Mr. Mack T. Pierce, Sr., 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at
his home.
Mr. Mack was born in Doerun and had lived in Pooler for many years. He was a member
of Trinity United Methodist Church in Pooler where he had served on the Trustees and
was an honorary member of the Administrative Board. He was preceded in death by his
wife of 60 years, Dorothy Jones Pierce, and he retired from Hercules after 41 years of
service. He served his country in the U.S. Army/Air Force and was a member of The
Mighty Eighth Air Force. He was a 25 year member and former Fire Chief for the City of
Pooler and had served as the city clerk of Pooler. He coached Little League Baseball and
enjoyed being outdoors.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mack T., Jr. & Myra Pierce of Pooler
and Robert W. & Darlene Pierce of Rincon; grandchildren, Kelly & Raoul Calimlim,
Stacy Pierce, Breanna Pierce and Brice Pierce; great-granddaughters, Isabel & Abigail
Calimlim.
Visitation: 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
