Obituary

Faulkville-Mrs. Macy Carter Mallard passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Mrs. Mallard was born in Appling County to the late Bryant and Eunie Carter. She had lived in Effingham County for a number of years. She was a member of the Faulkville Baptist Church where she was involved with the Senior Adults Group. She had retired from Union Camp and was preceded in death by two husbands, Don Thomas and Talmadge Mallard, a daughter, Kay Martin, grandson, Gary Anderson, sister, Wilda Mae Roberson and a brother, Bryant "Ding" Carter.
Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Ritter and husband, Roy (Tex); her son, Donnie G. Thomas; son-in-law, Royce Martin; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Lucille Thomas; brother-in-law, Ray F. Roberson, a number of nieces and nephews and the surviving members of Talmadge Mallard's family.
The funeral to celebrate Mrs. Macy's life was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Albert Hill officiating. Pallbearers were Tony Carter, Kenny Roberson, Rayford "Peanut" Thomas, Patton Thomas, Joey Thomas, Hugh Lowe and Gene Redding. Burial followed at Buck Creek Cemetery in Screven County.
