Marcia Lynn Burns
January 15, 1957 - January 21, 2024
Springfield – Marcia Lynn Burns was born to Leon Morgan and Elizabeth "Lib" Brant on a cold winter Tuesday in Savannah, Georgia. In true Marcia form, she left this world on her time on a cold, dreary day to meet her Savior on Sunday, January 21, 2024, after a brief illness at St. Joseph's Hospital.
After relocating to Springfield, Georgia in her early teens, she met the love of her life, Douglas. Marcia and Douglas married on April 16, 1983. In 1985, they graciously welcomed their only child, Jarrid. Springfield is where her home was made, and she remained here for the rest of her life.
Marcia was a homemaker by choice, and it was indeed her true calling. She found comfort and joy in the kitchen and running errands for the family business owned initially by her husband and brother-in-law and then passed down to the joy of her life, her only son. Family was everything to her and to her family, she was everything. She affectionately received the title of "Aunt Sha" and "Nannie" given by her nieces and nephews, whom she loved like her own. To know her was to love her and to be loved by her. She never met at stranger and was always willing to help another without expecting anything in return. A true servant's heart was within her, and you never had to question her faith in her Lord.
Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Leon Morgan; her mother, Elizabeth "Lib" Brant Steed; her "Pa", Lavonne Steed; mother-in-law, Elise Burns; father-in-law, James "Jim" Burns; as well as a sister-in-law, Tammy Morgan.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 40 years, James Douglas Burns; her pride and joy, her son, Jarrid Douglas Burns; sister, Denise Rahn (Bubba); brothers, Ardie Morgan, Eddie Morgan, and Timothy Steed (Jenny); in addition, her sister-in-law, Vera Waters; brother-in-law, Tracy Burns (Cathy). Aunt Sha or Nannie leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews, and a host of friends that she adoringly considered family.
