Rincon- Marcia Hopkinson Etzle, 76, passed peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Candler Hospital
Marcia was born February 22, 1947 in Savannah, GA
Marcia was preceded in death by her Husband of 26 years John J Etzle Jr.(JJ) Her parents William Henry Hopkinson and Marion Joyce Arnsdorff Hopkinson, 2 sisters Marion Joy and Janeth Marie
She is survived by one sister Marla Jean Harn and one brother William Henry Hopkinson III
She leaves behind two sons Michael A. Johnson (Julie) and 2 Grandsons, Connor Johnson and Matthew Johnson
John J. Etzle III (Maria) and 3 grandchildren John Etzle IV (Stephanie), Kathryn Etzle and Sean Etzle
Several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Bailey.
Marcia was a graduate of Jenkins High School class of 1965 and attended Armstrong State College. She worked many years at Memorial Health and then moved on to Gulfstream where she retired.
She attended church at Trinity Baptist in Effingham County.
Marcia loved her family and especially her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. Marcia loved attending anything that her grandchildren were apart of whether it be sporting events, musicals, school awards or just simply taking them to do something special. Marcia never met a Stranger and would brighten any room she walked into. Marcia loved to ride on the back of her Goldwing with JJ and eventually learned to ride herself and took trips after he passed. She was a member of GWRRA Goldwing Club. She loved to travel with her friends. She played cards and line danced on a weekly basis. She loved attending to her plants. Marcia always had a side hustle whether it was selling Premier Jewelry or most recently Rodan and Fields. She was passionate about anything she was involved in and met many good friends along the way.
Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church on Friday March 10 , 2023
5-7 pm with a service beginning promptly at 6pm
