Mrs. Margaret Crawford Bernhardt Livingston
Powder Springs-Mrs. Margaret Crawford Bernhardt Livingston, 87, died on Saturday,
September 15, 2007.
Mrs. Livingston was a native of Statesboro and moved to Savannah in 1937 where she
attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing. She was a nurse for Savannah Urological Clinic
for many years. She returned to Armstrong University and received her B.S. in nursing.
She then worked for Memorial Medical Center. She was a member of Ardsley Park
Baptist Church in Savannah and Powers Baptist Church in Eden.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, John Andrew and Veronica Crawford,
her siblings, Mary Bland, Walter Crawford, Carol Crawford, Frieda Bell, John A.
Crawford, Jr. and Jean Godbee as well as husbands, Samuel Jay Bernhardt, Jr. and Arthur
Paul Livingston.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel Jay and Dolly Bernhardt, III; one
daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Craig Seymour; two granddaughters and one
grandson, Sherrie Marie and Doug Appleby, Margaret Michelle and Chris Stotts, Jason
Craig and Tammy Seymour; twelve great-grandchildren, Nicole, Jennifer, Brittany and
Tyler Jones-Appleby, Zachary, Stevie, Anagrace and Joshua Stotts, Ansleigh, Austin,
Jacob and Ryan Seymour and many dearly loved nieces and nephews with the Bell,
Bland, Dyches and Crawford families.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons
Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler with burial to follow at
Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery on Wheaton Street in Savannah.
