Pooler-Margaret Dotson Jones (Maggie), beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, died peacefully at her temporary residence at Savannah Cottage assisted living, in Savannah, GA on July 28, 2013.
A native of Savannah, Margaret was born to Doris and Albert Dotson, Sr. on June 8, 1927.
Margaret was an outgoing and generous woman and mother whose primary focus in life was the well being of her family. She was a life member of the First Baptist Church of Pooler. She completed a successful thirty-one year career with the Georgia Pacific Corporation and retired as an accounts manager for the Southeastern U.S.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Albert S. Dotson and Frank Lewis Dotson of Savannah; two sons, Michael Clayton Jones and Samuel Dotson Jones.
She is survived by a son, Ballard Jones, III, daughter-in-law, Elisabeth Stanley-Jones, of Richmond Hill, GA; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Jones of Pembroke, GA; sister, Martha D. Laughlin; brother, Richard A. Dotson; two grandsons, Ballard Jones, IV and Marc Daniel Stanley and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home with the burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
