Margaret Lenora Hodges, 89, passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2022.  Lenora, affectionately known as Aunt Penny by her nieces and nephews, was a lifelong resident of Port Wentworth and member of Jasper Springs Baptist Church.  Friends and family will remember Lenora for her servant's heart, her devotion to her family and her church, and her authentic faith in the Lord.  The hundreds of children who attended Jasper Springs Daycare, however, will affectionately recall Mrs. Hodges' famous meals that were so lovingly prepared every day over the course of her 20 years' service to the children of the daycare center.

Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Cecil Franklin Hodges, and her daughter, Debbie Exley.  She is survived by two daughters, Martha Smith (Wayne) of Pembroke and Cindy Doud (Jim) of Guyton; and a son, Douglas Hodges of Atlanta; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.  Her family was the absolute joy of her life, which was evidenced every day in her words, actions, and most importantly, her prayers.

The visitation will be on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10 a.m.  The funeral will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
