Pooler-Mrs. Margaret H. Jones, 84, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Bryan County Health & Rehab Center.
Mrs. Jones was born in Screven County and had lived in Chatham County for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. "Bill" Jones and her son, Michael A. Jones. She was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school, Training Union and G.A.'s and sang in the choir. She retired from J.C. Penny.
Survivors include her children, Lynn & Larry Cobb of Pooler, Connie & Gary Clark of Bulloch County and Amanda & Eric Loyd of Winnabow, NC; eight grandsons and fivegreat-grandchildren.
The visitation for Mrs. Jones will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the funeral home.
The Funeral to honor Mrs. Jones' life will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Woodlawn Baptist Church located at 407 Talmadge Avenue in Garden City with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. The Deacons of the church will serve as pallbearers and the Ladies Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Jones will lie in state from 9-10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Newton Cemetery in Pooler.
