Margaret Mangum Shearouse

Springfield – Margaret Mangum Shearouse, 88, passed away Saturday June 20, 2026 at her residence after a long illness.

The Tattnall County native was an adventurous woman who enjoyed travel, horseback riding, fishing, and waterskiing in her younger years. She was a devoted wife and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton Mangum & Mattie Lou Kicklighter Mangum; siblings, Arlene Arnsdorff, Gloria Jones, and James (Jimmy) Mangum.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Shearouse; her children, Rocky Seward (Marcia), Patti Hendricks (Allen), Kenny Seward (Cathy), Jobie Seward, Sharon Reilly (Marvin); stepdaughters, Debbie Morris (Tommy), Diane Horton, and Sandra Thrasher (Jerry); one nephew, several nieces; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 5 – 7 pm Monday, June 22, 2026 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 am Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Interment: Stillwell Cemetery
