Margaret Thigpen Roach

Margaret Eleanor Thigpen Roach passed away on December 21, 2014 at 95 years old. Margaret was an active member of Divine Street Methodist Church for 40 years in Dunn, NC. She and her husband, the late Richard G. Roach, Sr., moved to Dunn from Spartanburg, SC. She enjoyed her family, reading, gardening, church groups, DAR, and the Women's Club of Dunn. She retired from Social Security after 25 years of service.

She is survived by her daughters, Eleanor Hill, and husband, Jonathan, and Elizabeth Weaver, and husband, Roberts; daughter-in-law, Freda Cameron; grandchildren: Jonathan Hill, and wife, Rebecca, Chris Hill, Anne Kessler, and husband, Robert, Garrett Richard Roach, and wife, Kate, Chris Cameron, and wife, Nicole; and great grandchildren, Avery Hill and Rinoa Cameron.

Margaret is predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Richard Graves Roach, Sr., and her son, Richard Graves Roach, Jr. The late Richard Graves Roach, Sr. was the hospital administrator at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, NC for 17 years.

The funeral will be on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Goshen United Methodist Church located at 107 Goshen Road in Rincon. Mrs. Roach will lie in state from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
