Pooler-Mrs. Margaret Diane Scott Lamb, 62, died on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at home, after a long battle with a rare neurodegenerative disease called Multiple System Atrophy.
She was born in Savannah, GA and grew up in Pooler, GA where she also raised her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. She truly cared about everyone and touched many lives with her sweet, sweet spirit. She was the backbone of her family and instrumental in her husband's role as mayor of Pooler. Diane was a member of Rothwell Baptist Church for 37 years and served the Lord in a number of ways, including Sunday School teacher and working in outreach for the church for many years until she was not able. She worked for Union Camp/International Paper from 1972 until 2004.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Michael Lamb; son, Scott Lamb; daughter and son-in-law, Wendi Lamb Martin & Brent Martin; 3 grandchildren whom she adored, Taylor, Chase, and Railey; mother-in-law, Henrie Lamb; sister, Pam Fail; brother, George Scott; 2 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law, and many more family members and friends who adored her.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Rothwell Baptist Church located at 216 Rothwell Street in Pooler with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
