Marie Bell Lewis, 81, passed away at her residence on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

Marie was born on February 15, 1943, in Savannah and lived in the area her entire life. She was a graduate of Savannah High School class of 1960 and was active in arranging the reunions for her class. Following high school, Marie held many jobs before settling into a career with H&R Block, where she worked for 53 years. In her free time, Marie enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, but most of all spending time with her family. She always loved family vacations and reunions.

Marie is predeceased by her parents, Wilbur and Viola Bell; her grandmother, Effie Bell; and her sister, Leila Bell.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Horace Lewis; son, Floyd Lewis, Jr.; daughter, Eleanor Tyler (Lonnie); grandson, Matthew Lewis Faford (Lindsey); eight great grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Oran, Lillian, Kensley, Lea, Aiden, and Natalie; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Silk Hope Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service starting at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers the family asks if donations be made directly to the family to help with medical costs.
