Savannah-Mrs. Marilyn Morris Hadwin, 72, died on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at her son's residence.
Marilyn was born in Toombs County and was of the Baptist faith. She was formerly employed with Lerner's as the first female credit manager of the time and was also employed by Karp Motors, Derst Bakery and Sea Pines Plantation. She loved writing short stories, painting, drawing and was a faithful contributor to numerous charitable organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Rufus and Daisy Pauline Morris and a nephew, Gregory Allen Morris.
Survivors include her children, Terry McFarlane Grainger (Ken) of Bloomingdale, Michael Edward McFarlane (Lisa) of Rincon, Walter Eugene Hadwin, Jr. (Angela) of Hardeeville, Traci Hadwin Elmgren (Randy) of Savannah and Tammie Michelle Davids (Bobby) of Bluffton, SC; brother, James Edwin Morris of Port Wentworth; nineteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two nephews. Marilyn will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and there will never be another like her.
Visitation: 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
