Mr. Marion Eugene Shiver "Gene", 77, of Bloomingdale, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Landmark Hospital.

Gene was born in Boston, GA to the late Marion Harmon Shiver and Letha Hill Shiver.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Faye Fowler Shiver, and two sisters, Linda Faye Hill and Carolyn Yvonne Peacock.  He served his country in the United States Army and spent time in Vietnam.  He was a member of South Newington Baptist Church and enjoyed gospel singing.  He enjoyed classic tractors and restored a John Deere tractor.  He was also a member of the Alee Shriners and was a self-employed truck driver.

Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Harmon & Linda Shiver of Dothan, AL, Roland F. & Margie Shiver of Savannah, GA, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The graveside funeral and burial will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery located at 1600 Wheaton Street in Savannah, GA.

The family requests that flowers not be sent for the funeral and in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org) or the Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL  33607 (shrinerschildrens.org)
