Martha A. Peeples, 70, passed away on July 30, 2018 in her home. She had been under the loving care of Hospice Savannah for the last several months. She was the daughter of the late George and Ruby Arnold. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Mr. Raymond "Tommy" Peeples, Jr., her daughter, Dr. Gerri Ann (Kris) Robbins, granddaughter Berkeley, her son, Raymond "Bubba" Peeples, III (Michelle), grandson, Patrick and granddaughters, Carmela, Sophia, and Amelia. Martha was a native Savannahian. She was a graduate of HV Jenkins High School and pursued a career of helping others. She retired in 2017 from her position at the Savannah Widow's Society as their bookkeeper and board member of over 39 years. In that role, she enjoyed helping hundreds of widowed women in need. Martha loved her family and her pets dearly. She was a member of the former Epworth United Methodist church and attended Marlowe United Methodist Church near her home. Martha loved playing Scrabble, listening to Elvis Presley, and spending time in Ormond Beach. She leaves behind multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family, and friends whom she loved dearly. Her family rejoices as she is with her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. There will be a private burial and graveside service for family and close friends on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Hillcrest Abbey West. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society of Greater Savannah or the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless.
