Mrs. Mary Lou Barnes, 86, of Guyton, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at The Oaks at Pooler.

She was born in Marlow, GA to the late Clarence William Burgess and Geneva Zittrauer Burgess.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Joseph Barnes, Jr.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a retired elementary school secretary.

Survivors include her children, Cheire Burns, Richard Barnes, and Amy Young (Fred); grandchildren, Brooke Burns, Jack Burns (Molly), Porter Young (Danielle), Wilson Young (Ellie), Mary Jane DeGuenther (Stephen), Molly Young, and Owen Young (Lindsay), and four great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church located at 121 Noel C. Conaway Road, Guyton.  The graveside funeral and burial will follow at 11 a.m. in the church cemetery with Pastor Ben Mandrick officiating.
