Mrs. Mary Lou Boyd, 72, of Bloomingdale, GA, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at her home.

Mary Lou was born in Louisburg, NC to the late Jack and Coleen Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her son, Daniel Lee Boyd. She retired from the Human Resources department of the Chatham County Health Department. Mary Lou enjoyed going out in the boat and staying on Daufuskie Island. She was also a member of the Savannah Shark Hunters Club and enjoyed going shark fishing.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Albert Lee Boyd; grandchildren, Lauren Michelle Jernigan (Brandon) and David Tate Boyd; great-grandchildren, Teegan Jernigan and Bristol Jernigan; two aunts, Eunice Peterson and Janice Tant and numerous cousins. Mary Lou you will truly be missed.

The visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the funeral home. The memorial service to honor Mary Lou's life will follow at 5 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
