Mary Gnann Edwards
Clyo – Mary Gnann Edwards, 87, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 at her residence.
The Effingham County native was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, and her peacocks and chickens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Bowman Gnann and Leola Mercer Gnann; husband, Carl Bowers Edwards, Jr.; great-grandson, Sheldon Bevill; and 14 siblings.
Survivors include her children, Peggy (Vance) Bevill of Clyo, David (Leta) Edwards of Darien, Arthur (Karen) Edwards of Springfield; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bobby Edwards of Clyo; sister-in-law, Pansy Gnann of Port Wentworth; caregiver, Ann Cunningham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Corinth Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
