Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hendrix "Bulldog", 77, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Memorial Hospital.

Mary will be missed by the family who loved her dearly, including her husband, Frank Hendrix; children, Tammy Powell (John), Franklin Earl Gatch, Jr. (Gloria), Robert Register (Charlotte), and Lorrie Cain (William); step-children, Donna Davis and David Hendrix (Robin); eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Mary was born in Savannah, Georgia and was the baby of 13 children born to the late Harvey Smith and Nora Hewitt Smith.  She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Gatch.  She was a fun-loving prankster who also enjoyed crocheting, crafting, the outdoors, and McDonald's Frappe's.  She will be missed.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Mary's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery with Pastor Allan Bosson officiating.
