Mary Will Marchman Long

Springfield – Mary Will Marchman Long, 82, passed away January 21, 2021 at her home.

Mary Will was born on April 10, 1938 the daughter of the late Mildred and Mac Marchman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, "Coach" Jim Long; brother, Mac Marchman; and nephew, John Marchman.

Mary Will is survived by her two sons, Brad Long (Stephanie) and Bruce Long (Kristie); four grandchildren, Brandon Long (Kelly), Tiffany Long Writch (Zach), Mallory Long Jenkins (Walker), Colton Long; four great-grandchildren, Jewell Long, Lucy Writch, Jim Long, Charlee Writch; and niece, Susan Marchman.

Mary Will was a member of the last graduating class of Effingham Academy. She then went on to graduate from GSU with a BS in education. She taught and retired from Springfield Elementary. She touched the lives of many youngsters who hold her in high esteem today. Mary Will was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Graveside Service: 3 pm Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Effingham Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest by her husband.
