Mrs. Mary Jo Stokes Purvis, 85, of Springfield, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

Mary Jo was born in Emanuel County and had lived in both Ellabell and Glennville for a number of years before moving to Springfield six years ago.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Fred Fortner Flanders, as well as her brothers, Wiley Flanders, Donald Flanders, and Winston Flanders.  She was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church.  She had been employed at Palmer Kay, Krispy Kreme, and retired from First Franklin Financial.  She enjoyed fishing but most of all, loved her family.

Survivors include her children, Robert Brown (Jeannette), Patricia Diane Wiggins and Joey Wiggins (Stephanie); grandchildren, Phillip Frawley, Jarad Wiggins, Cameron Wiggins (Delane), and Sydney Kulper; great-grandchildren, Lane Wiggins and Riley Wiggins; sister, Ophelia Boyette; sisters-in-love, Joann Flanders, Mildred Flanders, and Betty Flanders, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 12:30 until 1:30 at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Mary Jo's life will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
