Garden City, Matthew Cobb, 33, passed away on July 3, 2024.  He was born on January 30, 1991 In Savannah, GA. Many knew Matthew only through the lens of the addictions he battled for years. That wasn't the real Matthew though, and those fortunate enough to truly know him immediately recognized him as a talented gardener, novice carpenter and a man who loved deeply.

Matthew was a beloved son, brother and friend. He had a kind and generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His infectious laughter and warm smile brought joy to those around him, even during his darkest days.

Matthew attended school in Savannah, GA and graduated from Providence Day School in 2009.

On July 3, 2024, the illness and addiction that had stolen Matthew's goals and dreams took his life. His friends and family will remember him for the loving man that he was.

Matthew is survived by his loving and dedicated parents, Virgil and Susan Cobb; his twin brother, Garrett (Amanda) Cobb; sister, Victoria Cobb; and brother, Chuck (Megan) Smith. He is also survived by his nieces, Cason (Max) Sires, Madelyn Smith; and nephew, Cooper Smith. Matthew had many beloved Aunts and Uncles, Diane (Dave) Smith, Brenda (Mike) McClain, Deborah Lovett and Mark (Paula) Cobb.

Matthew is preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Smith; grandparents, George and Lena Rowe and Virgil and Gladys Cobb, Sr.

The family will hold a private family service.
