Matthew Groover (44) passed away Tuesday December 31st, 2024 at his home in Guyton, GA.

He was an amazing and loving father to his 16 year old daughter, Emily. She had him wrapped around her little finger from before she even entered this world. He was the biggest UGA fan any of us knew. He enjoyed spending his Saturdays watching football and cheering for his favorite team. He was an inactive member of the Acacia Lodge #452 in Garden City and worked at Gulfstream for the last 15+ years.

He is survived by his daughter Emily Groover, sister Lisa Adams (Gregg), brothers Bryan Long (Sherry), James Groover and Steven Groover as well as numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and so many loving friends that became family.

He was welcomed home by his father, Robert W. Groover and his mother, Constance Groover as well as grandparents and other family members.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2024 at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2024 at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
