Faulkville – Mattie Lou Webb Claxton, 82, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Brown's Health and Rehab in Statesboro.

The Emanuel County native was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and member of the Holy Church of God in Pineora.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Ida Belle Scarboro Webb; 7 sisters; and grandson, Tyler Ambrose.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, James Bennett Claxton; daughters, Deborah Stone, Dana Carol Claxton, Joy Lynn Ambrose, and Wanda Ryals; grandsons, Dave Stone, Paul Ambrose, Chase Ambrose, and Jared Waters; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brown's Health and Rehab for the loving kindness shown to their family and Regency Hospice.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 3 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Rincon Cemetery.
