Egypt - May Edwards Beard, 65, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at her residence.

The Effingham County native was a member of Elam-Egypt Baptist Church. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Ola Mae Edwards and sister, Roxie Geraldine

Survivors include her children, Cathie (Eddie) Hodges, Michelle (Freddie) Tuten, and
Daniel (Tracy) Beard; grandchildren, Freddie, Jr. and Christopher Tuten, John Michael
(Regis) Hodges, Austin and Colby Beard; great-grandson, Hunter Tuten; sister, Martha
(Lamar) Howell; aunt, uncle, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Elam-Egypt Baptist Church. Ms. Beard will
lie in state from 1 p.m.

Interment will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
