Melissa "Penny" Louise Brown of Pooler, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Penny was born on December 28, 1962 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Roger and Louise Meeks.  She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Donny Brown.  She was a member of Rothwell Baptist Church and graduated from Groves High School in 1981.

Penny loved the Lord and her family was her life.  Her latest enjoyment was becoming a G-MA and spoiling her every chance she could.  She loved suntanning on Tybee Island and watching her Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs play.

Survivors include her children, Donald (Rachael) Brown of Pooler, Magen (Travis) Cochran of Bloomingdale; sister, Diane (Glenn) Allen of Pooler; brothers-in-law, Bobby Brown of Pooler and Ricky (Ann) Brown of Walterboro, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Betty Daniels of Baxley; grandchildren, Levi Cochran, Zoey Wood and Abigail Brown, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Penny's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the Rothwell Baptist Church Property Fund, 216 Rothwell Street, Pooler, Georgia 31322.
