Mrs. Meredith Adella Carter Waters Bacon, 80, of Bloomingdale, GA, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Candler Hospital.

Meredith was born in Newington, GA to the late Adolphus Jasper Carter, Jr. and Edith Wade Sheppard Carter.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Douglas Waters whom she married the week after graduating high school in 1959, and her second husband, Arnold V. "Shorty" Bacon, whom she married in 2004.  She had been employed at Union Camp, retired from National Cash Register, was a homemaker, as well as a caretaker.  She was a former member of Rothwell Baptist Church, had formerly been a member of Faulkville Baptist Church, and was a current member of South Newington Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Samuel Tracy Waters (Geia), Melanie Roxane Waters Fielder (George), and Neal Alan Waters (Sharon) grandchildren, Alissandra Roxanne Waters, Ava Renee Waters, Justin Arthur Fielder (Jessie), Jody Douglas Fielder, Brooke Waters Hulsey (Tyler), and "A.J." Neal Alan Waters, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Isabella Nicole Fielder, Morgan Louise Fielder, Jacob Reid Fielder, and Harden Wells Hulsey; brothers, Adolphus "A.J.", Joe, and Grier Carter; sister, Marlene Carter Emeott; a number of nieces and nephews; bonus children, Linda Collins (Charlie), Brad Bacon (Robin), and Arnette Villegas, as well as a number of bonus grandchildren and bonus great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be on Monday, June 20 ^th from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomingdale.  She had a good life, God called her home.
