Guyton – Merle Pittman Cone, 83, passed away June 6, 2023 at Memorial Health surrounded by her family.

The Chatham County native retired from Affordable Dentures.  She enjoyed fishing, gardening, taking care of her animals, but above all else she loved her family and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Jessie Pittman.

Survivors include her husband, Fred O. Cone; children, Charles E. Hodges, Jr. (Tammy), Bill Hodges (Debbie), Mitchell Lee Hodges, Kellie Hodges Annas (Robert S.), Melanie McCall (David), and Shelba Kieffer (Allen); grandchildren, Benjamin Hodges, Joshua Hodges (Katie), Amy Powell (Shanon), Jennifer Groves (Tony), Mitch Hodges (Katie), Shawn Hodges, Michael Deal (Haley), Anthony Hodges, Gabe Hodges, Jessica Kile, Wendy Annas, Heather Arnold (Shawn), Gina Gerald, Ben Nutting (Trish), Christopher Kieffer, Allie Rahn (Zeke); 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Pittman (Joyce); a number of nieces and nephews; and her beloved Beagle, Rusty.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in North Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
