Pooler-Mr. Michael J. Decker, 63, passed away Friday, December 10, 2010 at St.
Joseph's Hospital.
Mr. Decker was born in Patterson, NJ to the late John E. and Martha Claire Decker. He
retired from Target and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Pooler where he attended the Harvesters Sunday School Class.
He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed
playing musical instruments and loved history. He was a member of the Silentia Masonic
Lodge, Chapter 056 in Butler, NJ.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthann Decker of Pooler; daughter, Allison Jean Stoveken
of Ringwood, NJ; grandchildren, Frank Lester Stoveken and Suzanna Jean Stoveken;
siblings, Jack Decker of Blairstown, NJ, Mary Elizabeth Ebbitt of Ormond Beach, FL,
Nancy Herman of Montique, NJ, Peter Decker of Dingmans Ferry, PA, Joseph Decker of
Ormond Beach, FL and Casey Decker of Oak Park, IL; uncle, Harry Decker of Elmwood
Park, NJ; several nieces, nephews and his dog, Maggie.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Pooler. Burial will follow at
Hillcrest Abbey West with Masonic Rites and military honors.
