Pooler-Mr. Michael A. Murphy, 57, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home.
Michael was born in Pottstown, PA to the late Martin & Faye Murphy. He was employed with Gulfstream as a Lead Structural Test Engineer and had served as a Pooler Volunteer Fireman. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding his Harley or boating on the Chesapeake Bay.
Survivors include his wife, Cleo S. Murphy; daughters, Bridgit Anne Murphy and her fiancé, Brian Taylor, and Jennie Marie Murphy; sisters, Maureen Murphy and Patricia Murphy.
The visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Michael's life was at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 in the chapel of the funeral home. Mr. Donnie Burns officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Hillis, Jerry Settle, Tim Myers and Bill Latham. Tonia Gay Hillis provided the music. The entombment will be at a later date in Pennsylvania.
