Mrs. Mildred "Louise" Butler West Newman,92, of Meldrim, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Effingham Extended Care Facility.

Louise was born in Swainsboro, GA to the late Spencer Ellington Riner and Nancy Chalker Riner.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Butler, and her second husband, Edwin Newman, daughter, Deborah Scott Smith; son-in-law, Alton Scott, great-grandson, Harold Clifford Gracen IV, siblings and their spouses, Ira Thomas "T" Riner (Gladys Wilson Riner), William Ralph Riner (Madie Lamb Riner), Leona Bell Stille (Curtis Stille), Gracie Pearl Fields (John A. Fields), Hubert Morris Riner (Frances Canady Riner), Ida Lou Johnson (Pete Johnson), Zannie Ruth "Nook" Canady (Byron Canady), Ivy Walton "Doc" Riner (Carrie Dee Edenfield Riner), John Franklin "Frank" Riner (Annie Elizabeth Coleman Riner), and Edwin Louis Riner (Barbara Cross Riner).  She was a member of the Meldrim Baptist Church and retired from Union Camp after 30 plus years.  She enjoyed going to church, reading, and doing yard work.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gwen B. Kaiser (Gary); grandchildren, Michelle Humphries, Gwendolyn "Wendy" Gracen (Cliff), Heidi North (Richard), Rachel Dudley(Scott), and Nancy Poole (Kenny); great-grandchildren, Lawton Humphries (Lauren), Emily Humphries,  Peyton Gracen, Brittany Gracen, Halle North, Richard "Trey" North, Caroline Crosby (Casey), Matthew Dudley (Kelsey), D.J. Poole, Shelby Poole, Charly Poole, Ransom Poole, and Andy Poole (Amber); 10 great-great-grandchildren; former son-in-law, Marshall Theodore "Ted" Helmey; former grandson-in-law, James "Jimbo" Humphries, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the funeral home.  The funeral will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
