Mrs. Mildred Ruth Johnson Dees, 85, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at her home.
Mildred was born in Washington County, Georgia and had lived in Port Wentworth for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis H. Johnson and Ruth Underwood Johnson, as well as her siblings, O.C. Johnson, Ray Johnson, Catherine Sample, and Sandra Floyd Taylor. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and drove a bus for the Chatham County Board of Education for 28 years.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Reginald A. "Reggie" Dees; daughters, Kay Reese, Debbie Cantaline, and Donna Lewis; grandchildren, Crystal Kennedy (Rader), Jeremy Cantaline, Adam Reese (Erica); great-grandchildren, Regan Kennedy, Chase Kennedy, and Josiah Cantaline, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The Dees family would like to thank Pruitt Hospice, including nurses Jenna, Antoinette, and Sara, as well as care givers, Denise and Shelley.
The visitation will be on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mildred's life will be on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
