Mildred Helmey Nease
Ridgeland, SC – Mildred Helmey Nease, 93, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Ridgeland Nursing Center.
The Effingham County native was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church and member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Ridgeland, SC. She was a homemaker and accomplished seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Janet Youngblood, Paulette Nease, and an unnamed infant daughter; her parents, George "Mannie" and Leonie Z. Helmey; her husband, Ray L. Nease; two sisters, Lois Crapps and Marie Nease; and two brothers, Harold Helmey and Eugene Helmey.
Survivors include her son, Dexter Nease (Linda) of Hardeeville, SC; son-in-law, John Youngblood of Ridgeland, SC; granddaughters, Melinda Nease of Summerville, SC and Dallas Lassiter (Michael) of Ridgeland, SC; sister, Betty Porter of Savannah; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 121 Noel C. Conaway Road, Guyton, GA 31312.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery at the intersection of GA Highways 17 and 30 in Guyton, GA.
