Millard Arnold Lawson, Jr., 74, died on Sunday, November 5th at his home.
He was a Garden City native and served in the United States Air Force 165th Airlift Wing. He was a devoted Christian who loved his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He retired after 27 years of service from Gulfstream Aerospace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard A. Lawson, Sr. & Marguerite Riggs Lawson and a grandson, Tyler James Lawson.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol M. Lawson; children, Mill (Amy) Lawson and Leigh-Anne (Eric) Long; grandchildren, Logan Lawson, Kaleb, Landon & Brea Long; brother, James Randall (Nancy) Lawson, Sr.; Godson, Jamie Lawson.
The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8th at the funeral home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 9th in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Johnny Bowen officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Logan Johnson, Robbie Youngblood, Jamie Lawson, and Danny Toole. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
Remembrances in his honor can be made to the Tyler James Lawson Scholarship Fund at Trinity United Methodist Church, 320 Benton Drive, Pooler, GA 31322.
