Savannah - Minnie Rebecca Heidt Butler 93, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father Friday morning   March 21, 2014. She was born in Marlow GA on December 19, 1920 and lived in Savannah all of her adult life. She was the 4 ^th of 12 children to the late Jacob and Willie Lee Heidt. She is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Willie Lee Heidt, her husband of 52 years Harold Wesley Butler, brother Ewell Heidt, sisters Maggie Mooney, Bertie Strickland, Odell Wise, Doris Wallace and Sonia Siebert. She met Harold Butler in the fall of 1940 and married June 28, 1941. Minnie was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She raised two sons. She helped build and manage Butler Plumbing in 1963 until retirement. Minnie was very involved with her husband's church ministry. She was a member of First Assembly of God for 36 years also the "Golden Gems". Everyone that knew her knew that she was known for her cooking. No one ever went hungry that was around Ms. Minnie. Her kitchen was always open. She was always helping others by the giving of her time and the countless quiet prayers that she said.  She is survived by her two sons, Joel C. Butler (Beverly) and John W. Butler (Tammie). Four grandchildren, Wesley Butler (Jennifer), Stephen Butler, Carrie Butler and Cassie Butler. Three great grandchildren, Kirsten Butler, Kaleigh Butler and Rebekah Butler. Four sisters, Lida Peth, Mary Harden, Maree Patrick and Amelia Dominy. One brother, Charlie Heidt (Melinda) and several nieces and nephews. Also survived by close friend and caregiver Martha Cowart. Visitation: Monday March 24, 2014 6-8 p.m. at Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home in Pooler. Funeral services at First Assembly of God on Pennsylvania Ave in Savannah, GA on Tuesday March 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Bonaventure Cemetery.
