Mrs. Miriam Mercer Bevill
Springfield- Mrs. Miriam Mercer Bevill completed a peaceful transition from her earthly home in Springfield to her heavenly home, rejoining her husband Otis Bevill. Finally together, they will be celebrating their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, forever.
Mrs. Miriam was born to Ina & Sam Mercer on May 3, 1924 surrounded by her sisters, Marguerite and Cleo. Miriam graduated from Clyo High School. At the age of 16, she travelled from Savannah to Norfolk to marry the love of her life who two days later shipped out with the U.S. Navy to serve in World War II. After working in Savannah and Springfield, she returned home to Egypt, GA. Later, after having her three children, she worked in Springfield at the B & B Grocery, Joann's Florist, and was co-owner of Bevill Trailer Park.
Miriam was a perfect example of what a Christian is. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Springfield for 65 years and is presently a member of the Church @ Godley Station.
She is survived by her two sons, Flynn G. Bevill and Nicholas Bevill (Janis); a daughter, Barbara Brewer (Comer); grandchildren, Zalia Beville, Meg Beville, Kim Wolfe, Shan Miller, Ron Clary, Jamie Bevill, and Melissa Stone; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 1-3 pm Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the funeral home.
Celebration of Life: 3 pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 239 Silver Hill Church Rd., Springfield, GA 31329.
The family wants to thank those special caregivers ,those earthly angels, that have given superb care to our mother during her travels. They are Ms. Deborah Cottman, Mary Thomas, Jerri Sutton, Latrelle Lee and Pauline Lee. May God continue to bless you and keep you in our prayers.
